How To Find The Right Persian Kitten

Finding just the right Persian kitten for you and your family is no easy task.  There are many issues to consider including choosing the right breeder, coat color, and personality.

The Right Persian Cat Breeder

Choosing the right breeder.  In your quest to find the purrfect Persian kitten, it is easy to lose your way with so many breeders and catteries out there.  Keep in mind that health is priority.  Choose a Persian breeder who sells kittens with a State and Vet Certified Health Certificate.  These are health certificates that are state approved and vet signed.  In addition, be sure to purchase your new furry bundle from a breeder who has all kittens both blood and stool tested negative for feline diseases.  Breeders who have no problem sharing blood test results have nothing to hide.  Health guarantees are important as well.  These guarantees usually protect buyers from certain congenital and hereditary defects that might surface in the kitten later on, so it is crucial that your guarantee is good for at least one year.

Persian Cats Are A Rainbow Of  Color

Choosing the right color.  With a rainbow of colors to choose from, this can be a complicated decision - but yet so much fun!  Remember coat color is not the only thing to consider.  There is also cat pattern as well.  For example, a shaded silver Persian kitten is a kitten that is colored in silver and patterned in shaded.  Another example is a solid black Persian.  This is a Persian kitten that is colored in black and shaded in solid - no other color.  In contrast, a black and white bi-color, is colored in black with patches of white.  Taking the time to research the various colors and patterns can make the decision process so much easier.

A Persian Cat With The Right Personality

Choosing the right personality.  Persians are well known for their personality, but there are a few tips to take note.  Generally speaking, male Persian cats are more loving in nature while females tend to be more independent.  With that said, I have known many a loving female Persian cat.  Another factor to consider is whether you want a kitten or adult Persian.  While Persians are very docile cats, kittens will be kittens.  If you do not want to go throug the extremely active kitten stage, then maybe an adult Persian cat is what’s best.

Keep in mind that your new Persian kitten or Persian cat will become a member of the family for a very long time.  Choose a breeder that sets health as priority.  Research the various colors and patterns available, and consider what type of personality will fit your needs.  In the end, you will find the purrfect Persian that will make your heart smile.
