Personality of a Persian Kitten

Persian kittens are usually very placid being well suited for apartments and family homes.  Being very social, peaceful, gentle, and affectionate, Persian kittens can become very attached to their owner.  Persian kittens usually reach maturity by the age of two.  Regular grooming is an important part of caring for a Persian kittens as their coats are usually quite massive and prone to matting.  Due to tearing, some more than others, the eyes of a Persian kitten require daily cleaning.

Persian Kittens Physical Charactereistics

Coat Characteristics

Classic Coats: Classic  varieties of Persian kittens consist of self-colored coats meaning solid with no stripes or tabby markings on the Persian kittens coat.  Eye color consisting of orange, copper, or odd-eyes.

Tortoiseshell Coats: Persian kittens with a tortoiseshell coat consist of a combination of patches of hair with orange pigmentation along with patches of black as well.  Normally only Persian kitten for sale females are tortoiseshell.

Diluted Coats: Smoke Persian kittens for sale have hair root that is pure white, and the tip is very dark.  Ideally, the proportion should be 1/3 white and 2/3 coloring.  Common colorations of smoke Persian kittens for sale are black smoke Persian kittens, blue smoke Persian kittens, chocolate smoke Persian kittens, lilac smoke Persian kittens, tortie smoke Persian kittens, and so on.  Orange smoke Persian kittens are also known as smoke cameos.

  • Harlequin with white covering 1/2 to 3/4 of the body

Tabby Coats:  There are three types of tabby coats found on Persian kittens for sale:

  • Blotched tabby which includes broad stripes with a "M" shape on forehead, dark lines on cheeks, continuous necklaces on the upper chest, butterfly wings between shoulders, rings around legs and tail.
  • Mackerel tabby which includes narrow stripes which are parallel to each other and perpendicular to a longitudinal stripe running down the spine.
  • Spotted tabby which includes circular spots evenly distributed up to the belly with hairs between spot being agouti-type.

Chinchilla Coats:  Chinchilla Persian kittens for sale were originally created by crossing smoke Persian cats with silver tabby Persian cats.  Chinchilla Persian kittens are often smaller in size and have a very light coat with high tips of silver.  Tipping is limited to 1/8 the length of the guard hair with the base of the coat being white.  Chinchilla silver Persian kittens for sale have green eyes and liner around their eyes and nose.

Shaded Coats:  Shaded silver Persian kittens have a base coat that is pure white with 1/3 the length of hair being silver.  Gold shaded Persian kittens have an apricot or golden shaded appearance.

Colorpoint Coats:  Colorpoint Persians kittens, also known as Himalayans, were produced by crossing Siamese cats with Persian cats thus creating the colorpoint look.  After many years of breeding Himalayans to Persians, these colored cats are now simply referred to as colorpoint Persians.  All colorpoint Persian kittens have blue eyes and are born white with their makings appearing with age.  Color point Persian kittens for sale can be seal point, blue point, chocolate point, lilac point, cream point, and tortie point.
